From September 3 to 4, 2026, the 2026 “Glospect Intelligent Cup” 14th China (International) Rubber & Plastics Technology, Equipment and Market Symposium was successfully held in Dalian. The conference was jointly organized by the National Rubber & Plastics Machinery Information Center, the Petroleum and Chemical Rubber & Plastics Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Center, the journals Rubber & Plastics Technology and Equipment and Rubber & Plastics Intelligent Manufacturing and Energy Saving & Environmental Protection, and the China Rubber & Plastics Equipment Online Platform, with exclusive title sponsorship from Glospect (Dalian) Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. More than 200 delegates from industry associations, research institutes, and upstream and downstream enterprises gathered in Dalian to discuss the innovative development of the rubber and plastics industry.

Under the theme “Intelligence Empowers Rubber & Plastics, Green Opens a New Journey – Driven by New Quality Productive Forces, Empowered by AI, Upgraded through Technology, Advancing Together”, the conference focused on the intelligent, green, and international development of the rubber and plastics industry against the backdrop of new quality productive forces. At the opening ceremony, Zheng Yusheng, Director of the National Rubber & Plastics Center, delivered the opening address. Welcome speeches were delivered by Liu Dan, General Manager of Glospect (Dalian) Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Wang Jian, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Ganjingzi District, Dalian. Addresses were also given by Wang Lijie, Director of the Rubber & Plastics Professional Committee of the China Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association; Yang Weimin, Professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology; Mr. Chen Guorui, President of the Liaoning Rubber Industry Association; and Ju Hongzhen, former President of the China Rubber Industry Association, who analyzed the opportunities and challenges of the industry’s development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period in light of current industry conditions.

In the keynote technical report session, industry experts and corporate technical leaders took the stage in turn to share cutting-edge research and practical achievements. The reports focused on AI-empowered enterprise innovation, rubber processing technology and equipment development, domestic production breakthroughs in high-end rubber & plastics equipment, implementation of intelligent complete-line rubber equipment, the practice of embodied intelligence in tire building machinery, innovation in all-electric tire curing technology, green factory construction in the rubber industry, and the operation and management of overseas tire projects.

The new technology and new product sharing session was equally full of highlights, covering frontier technologies such as industry-specific large model applications and thermal management of rubber & plastics machinery. The whole series of reports spanned multiple dimensions, including AI implementation, self-reliance in high-end equipment, green manufacturing, and overseas engineering practice, offering both forward-looking analysis of industry trends and a wealth of first-hand cases from the production front line, and providing highly valuable reference for the attendees.

Roundtable dialogue

The conference featured a high-level industry roundtable dialogue, hosted by Professor Yang Weimin of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, with guests including Wang Qiying, Chen Jianjun, Jia Zhaoyang, Lin Guangyi, Gao Yanchen, and Sun Qingjiang. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as how AI can empower the high-quality development of manufacturing, how to tap the growth potential of the rubber machinery industry, how to view and resolve the divergence within the rubber machinery sector, pathways for rubber machinery enterprises to expand into overseas markets, and the transformative impact of new energy vehicle tire development on the rubber machinery equipment industry. They confronted the industry’s pain points head-on, sparked new ideas through debate, and formed a number of industry insights of practical guiding significance.

The delegates unanimously agreed that the topics of this conference closely matched the practical needs of industrial development, the reports were pragmatic and substantive, and the expert exchanges were thorough and in-depth, effectively promoting technology sharing and resource matching between upstream and downstream players in the industry chain.

Technological innovation is not only the core driving force for the high-quality development of enterprises, but also a key force empowering industrial upgrading and advancing industry and social progress. Continuing the fine tradition of previous symposiums, this edition carefully organized an industry paper competition with awards, and presented honorary certificates on site to the authors of the outstanding papers that won the first, second, and third prizes, setting academic benchmarks for the industry and fostering an industrial atmosphere that champions innovation and dedicated research.

Finally, Wei Xia, Secretary-General of the National Rubber & Plastics Center, the organizer, presented the commemorative cup and certificate to the exclusive co-organizer of this symposium, Glospect (Dalian) Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. Together with Mr. Liu Dan, General Manager of Glospect (Dalian) Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Qu Jian, General Manager of Qingdao Xiangjian Industrial Engineering Co., Ltd., the exclusive co-organizer of the next symposium, she completed the handover cup ceremony, passing on the torch of the symposium in an unbroken line and uniting hearts and efforts to help the industry uphold integrity while innovating and stride forward.

The day before, the National Rubber & Plastics Center, together with Glospect (Dalian) Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., organized the delegates to visit Dalian No. 2 Rubber & Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd. The delegates walked through the company’s production workshops, observed the rubber & plastics equipment manufacturing process and intelligent equipment achievements on site, and held technical exchanges, deepening mutual learning within the industry through the field visit and promoting the matching of industrial resources.

The successful holding of this symposium fully demonstrated the platform value of the National Rubber & Plastics Center in industry leadership, resource integration, and technology empowerment. Going forward, the Center will continue to leverage its role as an industry platform, keep building high-level vehicles for exchange and cooperation, support the technological iteration and upgrading of the rubber and plastics industry, and steadily advance China’s rubber and plastics industry toward intelligent, green, and high-end development!
